Your New Favorite Holiday Bingo Promotion: Rockin’ Around the Pull Tab Tree

It’s the holiday season, and that means your players are hopefully getting in the Christmas spirit. It’s always important to find ways to connect with your players, and you can do that by hosting events that encourage your players to participate in activities that are out of the ordinary. The “Rockin’ Around the Pull Tab Tree,” promotion is a great idea to try in your bingo hall because it’s relatively easy to implement, and it’s easily scalable: your event can be as simple or as extravagant as you can manage!

How to Play:

This promotion can run for an evening, a week, or the entire holiday season—whichever seems more sensible to your bingo hall. At the start of the promotion, set up an undecorated tree somewhere in your Bingo hall that is easily seen, but may not be easily accessible to players. Every night the tree is displayed, encourage players to write their name on their losing pull tab tickets and turn them in to be used to decorate the tree. You can hang them on the branches with string, paper clips, or whatever else you may have on-hand.

On the final night of the promotion (we recommend during the evening of your holiday event, if you’re having one) take all of the pull tab tickets that the tree has accumulated and put them into a drawing at the end of the night. The winner will be the name that was written on the back of the ticket pulled. The prize can be donated goods, cash, bingo products, or it can be a 50/50 raffle, in which half is donated to a children’s charity.

It’s important, as with any promotion, to make sure you have clearly stated the rules of the promotion. For example, you should include rules like “Must be present with valid ID to win. Valid with pull tab tickets purchased at this hall only. Management reserves the right to modify or cancel this promotion at any time.” You can post these rules near the tree for players to see. Also, make sure only your staff is decorating the tree, and that players aren’t moving or removing tickets from the tree. Staff can collect tickets from players as they move around the room, or you can display a box with a slot near the front of the bingo hall for players to add tickets, themselves. At the end of every night, those tickets can be taken from the box and added to the tree

Why we like it:

This is a great opportunity to do the following things:

  • Boost excitement for your players. This event encourages players to keep returning to your hall in order to add to their chance to win, and also to be present for the drawing.
  • Create partnerships with local business. This is a great opportunity to reach out to local businesses for donated prizes and to maintain a relationship with them for future events.
  • Try new things. Pay attention to how successful this promotion is once it has concluded, and keep that information in mind when planning other events throughout the year

We hope you’re as excited for the holidays as we are, and that your next bingo hall holiday event is a-Rockin’ good time! Make sure you show us your Pull Tab trees by tagging us on social media. Find all your bingo needs at www.abbottbingo.com. Good luck!
